STRESS AND RESCUE

Course Description

This program teaches you the skills and knowledge required to recognize and deal with stress, prevent accidents and properly deal with emergency situations encountered by divers. You will earn the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty certification after completing this program.

Step 1: Online Digital Materials and Exam

After enrollment, you will be given a log-in to access your online training materials to complete at your leisure. Please make sure you complete all of your online training BEFORE your class to ensure that you get the most value from the classroom and pool training. Estimated completion time = 3 hours

Step 2: Classroom & Pool

After successful completion you will qualify to use your new knowledge and demonstrate your skills in open water for certification. Estimated completion time = 3 hours

Step 3: Open Water Training Dives (3) - (Sold separately)

Three open water dives are required and can be completed in various locations. You will perform rescue scenarios under the instruction and supervision of an Ocean First instructor. We recommend completing these dives within 6 months of completing your classroom session.

Locations for open water dives include:

Key Largo, FL (quarterly)

Cozumel Mexico - *Free training dives*

Blue Mesa Reservoir - Gunnison, CO

The Blue Hole - Santa Rosa, NM (monthly)

SSI Referral - We can arrange a referral to virtually any dive destination around the world


Prerequisites:

Open water diver - From an internationally recognized training agency. (SSI, PADI, NAUI, SDI, etc.)

First-aid and CPR certification within the last 2 year. SSI React Right course fulfills this prerequisite

12 years of age and up

Gear Requirements:

Mask, Fins, and Snorkel. Owning your own Total Diving System is highly recommended
